Eclogue (Op. 29)

for Wind Quintet

Year of Composition: 2024
Duration: 7 minutes
Premiere: 7pm, March 14th 2024 ; Constance Pilkington Hall, The Purcell School

Composer's Notes:

Written in response to my loud and motion-driven orchestral work, Fleeting Manhattan, this Eclogue is like a slow and simple intimate fantasia. Centred around two main subjects, each written in the style of Scottish folk tunes. The first is set to an old form of musical dance, the Passacaglia, overall sounding like a nostalgic fantasia to another world of music.
